COVID-19 has really slowed us down!  We’re not sure what the future will hold for expansion until this pandemic dies down a little.  After having to close for over a month, it’s made us restructure a few things and rethink strategies moving forward.  We would still like to expand up into Kansas but we’re unsure of a timeline because of this major setback.  The whole world is feeling it I’m sure.  We will continue to update this page as we get more expansion related news!

Hey everyone. Just an update from the post we made below, I left for you to read since most of it still applies, just a few changes which I’ll address here.  Ok, so here’s the summary!

I had two different independent stores planned for 2019… a Vintage Toy Mall in Wichita and a collectible-centered Pawn shop in Jenks, OK (in that order).  There were a few slowdowns over the summer, including losing the space that I thought would be perfect in Wichita, so I decided to shift my focus to doing the pawn shop first.  I custom wrote software to run the place, was already on lease for the perfect commercial location, had the name picked out and had everything ready to go but encountered a few unexpected setbacks from the “pawn” side of things that I won’t get into here (it’s nothing bad but no one likes the “blame game” lol).  Since progress was at a standstill and I was staring at a full storage unit full of toys and collectibles to start this pawn shop (in addition to what I had set aside to open Wichita) I made the decision to pivot once again and simply turn this place into another Vintage Toy Mall!  So now Wichita is planned for Summer 2020 and in the meantime come check us out in Jenks!  Check out our social media feeds for info on our Grand Opening! 😁

Hey Vintage Toy Mall fans!  Big announcement, we’re working on Store #2 in Wichita Kansas.  We’ve got a few locations narrowed down and are undergoing negotiations on these places to try to get the store on a similar budget to our BA store.

What we are needing:

Currently we’re taking apps/resume’s for new employees in the Wichita area.  We need 2 reliable, nerdy, knowledgeable, eager, and fun people to join our team.  Training should only take a few weeks.

We’re also taking vendor apps for people wanting booth space out at the new Vintage Toy Mall Wichita.

Until negotiations on overheads are finalized we really don’t know what our booth spaces will cost yet.  We will follow the same “break-even model” at our Broken Arrow store which is taking all store overheads and dividing them equally between the booth spaces.  This ensures the lowest possible cost for vendors but lets us still keep the doors open.
